One good urban legend deserves another….

The Children and the Railroad Tracks
In San Antonio, Texas, years ago, a school bus stalled on a set of railroad tracks. A train was coming, but couldn’t see the bus, stuck around a curve, and the bus driver couldn’t get the children off in time. Everyone on the bus died.
They say that if you drive to that spot and stop on the tracks, even if you put on the brakes, your car will roll down the slight hill until it’s clear of the tracks. Locals claim it’s the children, as ghosts, pushing the cars to safety.
After years of this story going around, a local TV station decided to test it with a San Antonio sheriff present. The car was completely cleaned before being parked on the tracks. Sure enough, while the cameras were rolling, the car rolled too…until it was safely off the tracks. Then the police dusted the back of the car for prints…and found a row of tiny hand-prints.

Yep, that was a short one. I wanted to use part of this blog to mention the novella poll for any new readers. In January, my blog is being taken over by a free online e-serial set in the Darkest Powers world. What will it be about? That’s where you come in. Kelley is running a poll to choose the novella subject. To vote, click here: http://www.vizu.com/poll-vote.html?n=11 5880. The password is chloe. I’ll let you know the winning subject—and the schedule for the chapter postings—in my December 1 blog, which will be my last one…for now.
